ROMA – C’è anche “The young pope” tra le nomination degli Emmy Awards 2017, gli Oscar della televisione. La serie di successo di Paolo Sorrentino è stata nominata per la miglior fotografia per una miniserie o film tv (per Luca Bigazzi) e la miglior scenografia per un programma di narrativa contemporanea o fantasy (per Ludovica Ferrario). Un traguardo non da poco. Anche se non dovesse arrivare una statuetta, infatti, “The young pope” è la prima serie italiana ad essere inclusa tra le nomination del prestigioso premio.

Per HBO, in ogni caso, sembra un anno fortunato nonostante “Game of Thrones” sia rimasto fuori per la messa in onda posticipata. 110 le nomination ottenute dal canale che la portano dritta al podio delle nomination. 22 le candidature per le sue “Westworld” e “Saturday Night Live”. Segue Netflix con “Stranger Things” e “Feud: Bette and Joan” con 18 nomination. Infine, a chiudere il podio delle più nominate ancora HBO con “Veep”, la commedia con Julia Louis-Dreyfus che si attesta a 17.

Gara interessante sarà anche quella tra gli attori nominati. Ci sono Nicole Kidman e Reese Whiterspoon per “Big Little Lies”. Poi, Ewan McGregor per “Fargo”, Robert De Niro per “The Wizard of Lies”. E ancora Geoffrey Rush per “Genius”, Jessica Lange e Susan Sarandon per “Feud: Bette and Joan”. Infine, Benedict Cumberbatch per “Sherlock: The Lying Detective” e John Turturro  per “The Night Of”.
